NIC Drop

Where research, practice, and lived experience come together.

NIC Drop is a podcast from the Early Childhood Networked Improvement Community, or EC NIC, featuring conversations with educators, leaders, researchers, students, families, and community partners about what helps children, families, and the people who support them thrive.

We connect the science of development, learning, and well being with the knowledge that comes from everyday practice.

Because meaningful change often begins with seeing differently.

Listen. Notice. Learn together.

NIC Drop creates space for people doing the work to talk about what they are noticing, trying, learning, and carrying forward.

Our conversations explore development, relationships, regulation, learning, leadership, implementation, human capacity, and the systems and environments that shape them.

We are especially interested in the questions that help us see problems differently, test new possibilities, and learn from one another.

Series One: The SEL Cohort

Our first series revisits the Social Emotional Learning, or SEL Cohort, a professional learning experience focused on social and emotional development, trauma sensitive practice, and mindful awareness.

We reconnect with participating early childhood professionals to hear about the projects they created, what they learned, and how those ideas have continued to shape their work with children, families, colleagues, and communities.

Why NIC Drop?

Networked improvement begins with learning together.

NIC Drop extends that spirit beyond EC NIC meetings and projects by creating another space to share ideas, elevate the knowledge of people working alongside children and families, and invite more people into the conversation.

About EC NIC

The Early Childhood Networked Improvement Community brings together people across roles, organizations, and disciplines to learn together and improve the systems and environments that support young children, families, and early childhood professionals.
